Emergency Shelter

A safe place to stay tonight, no questions asked.

If you and your children need somewhere safe to go right now, we have a bed for you. Our shelter is confidential, free, and staffed around the clock — and you can stay up to 90 days while we work alongside you on what comes next.

What to expect

From your first call to your first night.

STEP 01 · Within minutes

You call. We listen.

An advocate answers — confidential, no judgement. We talk through your situation, your safety right now, and whether shelter is the right fit. No pressure either way.

STEP 02 · Within hours

We arrange safe transport.

If you decide to come in, we coordinate transportation that doesn't compromise your safety — sometimes a meeting point, sometimes pickup, never your home address shared with anyone.

STEP 03 · The same day

You're settled in.

A private room (you keep the key), a hot meal, fresh bedding. We'll show you around, introduce the staff, and let you rest. Everything else can wait until tomorrow.

While you stay

Everything you need is here.

No fees. No paperwork at the door. No expectation of where you go from here.

  • Private bedrooms for you and your children — you keep the only key.
  • Three meals a day, with options for dietary needs and a stocked kitchen for snacks.
  • Clothing, toiletries, and basics from our supply closet — take what you need.
  • An advocate assigned to you for case management, planning, and just listening when you need it.
  • On-site counseling for you and your children, individually or as a family.
  • Children's program — daily activities, school enrollment help, play therapy.
  • Pets are welcome — kennels and supplies on site, because no one should leave a family member behind.
  • Transportation help for court dates, medical appointments, kids' school.
Common questions

The things people ask first.

No. We don't require ID, citizenship documents, a police report, or proof of anything. If you say you need shelter, that's enough.

Up to 90 days, and we extend stays when it's needed. Toward the end of that, your advocate helps you transition into transitional housing or another safe arrangement — never back into danger.

Yes to both. We accept all family configurations, and our shelter has dedicated children's spaces and an on-site pet program. Tell the advocate on the call who's coming with you.

Yes. Our shelter address is not public. You'll get the address only when you're confirmed for intake, and we ask everyone there to protect it.

Your stay with us is legally confidential. We don't confirm or deny anyone's presence — not to family, not to law enforcement (without a court order), not to anyone.

Nothing. Shelter, meals, supplies, advocacy, and counseling are all free. Funded by donors, grants, and our thrift store.

We support survivors of all genders. Our main shelter is configured for women and children; for male survivors, we maintain partnerships with safe housing options and our advocates work with you to find the right fit, immediately.

Packing for shelter

If you have time and it's safe — here's what helps.

Don't delay leaving to gather any of this. We have everything you need on site. But if you can pack safely beforehand, here's what's most useful.

If you can grab them — important documents

  • ID, driver's license, or passport (yours and children's)
  • Birth certificates & social security cards
  • Insurance cards (health, auto)
  • Custody, divorce, or protection orders
  • Bank account & credit card information
  • House lease, mortgage, or vehicle titles
  • Prescription medications
  • Phone charger

Useful but not necessary

  • A change of clothes for a few days
  • A favorite stuffed animal or comfort item for kids
  • Family photos or small keepsakes
  • Pet food & supplies (we have extras too)
  • Cash, even small amounts
  • Address book or list of important contacts

You can call right now. We'll be on the other end.

You don't need to know what you want yet. You don't need to be ready to leave. Just call. We'll figure out the next step together.
